That was killed in action. It states that Anderson approved of the claim citing 80 horses killed in battle. Claim was approved by Lewis Cruger, Comptroller. Lots of names and other info in letter but it's all hard to read. A Civil War historian will recognize more than I can.
Document is on very thin, fragile paper, badly worn in places. Apprx 8.5" X 12". This is an original postcard or historical document.
