Excellent working order, the bullet mold exhibits a single, tapered, wood-handle that supports a brass ferrule mated with a heavy brass mold atop the ferrule. Brass mold is bored out to a. 44 caliber cavity and has a top hinged cover / iron sprue cutter that slides over the cavity to allow the molten lead to enter the mold. Total length of the mold is 5½ with the handle some 4¼ long. Brass mold wears a pleasing bronze patina while the iron sprue cutter has been blued.
Wood handle is of walnut or oak and shows two thin lines of tooling near the tapered tip. The Starr Arms Company went out of business in 1867.
