This listing is for an original Young Lady's dress from the Civil War period. It's made of wool, I believe.
The bodice is gathered at the waist with an off-white cotton lining. The skirt is unlined, but has pretty green wool hem tape and a pocket. The whole dress fastens at center back with original buttons. It's great for display, inspiration and study.Belt and pin not included. Condition: Some light discoloration and some scattered holes/wear. There are several beautifully done period darns and patches- A great opportunity to study period technique! The dress was enlarged at some point and the neck piping removed. Unbleached muslin would make an easy, unobtrusive replacement. The chest is about 34. The waist is about 24. The front length is about 41 inches. Please note: Measurements are approximate and should be taken as maximum. Antique clothing items are not wearable UNLESS specifically labeled so in the description.
