The dress retains its original matching pelerine, still attached. This may have been sewn onto the dress later, but I left it as-is. Possibly, it was intended to be removable. Also notable is the gorgeous colorful braid trim!
The bodice is gathered at the waist with a boned off-white cotton lining. The skirt is unlined, but has a narrow brown cotton facing and wool hem tape. The whole dress fastens at center front with hooks/eyes. The original buttons are decorative only. It's great for display, inspiration and study.Belt and pin not included. There is some loose stitching on the flounces. The buttons show obvious wear. The chest is about 34.
The waist is about 24. The front length is about 41 inches. Please note: Measurements are approximate and should be taken as maximum. Antique clothing items are not wearable UNLESS specifically labeled so in the description. The item "ANTIQUE CIVIL WAR ERA LADY'S SUMMER DRESS c.
