This listing is for a fantastic original Lady's Day Dress from the Civil War period. The fabric is a gorgeous wool challis printed with bunches of leaves and flowers in frames. I love the aqua blue color! From the piped armhole, each one has double-puffed epaulettes and flowing open sleeves. They are not exactly pagoda sleeves, but they are huge and flared and long. The bodice and sleeves are lined in white cotton. The bodice fastens in front with hooks/eyes. The skirt is triple box-pleated all around. It is fully lined with white cotton and bound with red-brown wool hem tape. It's great for display, inspiration and study. Belt, collar, undersleeves and pin not included. There is some discoloration here and there- See the left shoulder. The skirt- once separate- has been hand-sewn onto the bodice in modern times.
There is a small piece of fabric which is included- It may have come from the skirt placket. It's hard to tell as there is no noticeably missing fabric.
The chest is about 36. The waist is about 24. The length is about 44 inches.
