Antique 19c civil war era Christening/Baptism Hand Embroidered Ayrshire Gown for Newborn Condition:pre loved comes in very good shape for its age. Has only 3-4 small holes that can be easily mended. Yellowing over time is present as expected. No holes or big rips. This is an amazing Newborn Christening gown a rruly heirloom piece.Made of light cotton fabric. Stand up collar, long sleeve, back clousure. This gown is fully adorned with heavy textured embroidery and eyelets. It is very detailed in floral and geometrical motifs. It has a texture as well. Back buttons are mother of pearls. Not an expert on embroidery techniques but this one is very intricate. One of a kind and museum worth piece.
