1867 1st ed John Mosby & his Men American CIVIL WAR Confederacy CSA Virginia
Ed John Mosby & his Men American CIVIL WAR Confederacy CSA Virginia. Since the close of the war, I have come to know Colonel Mosby personally, and somewhat intimately. There were probably but few men in the South who could have commanded successfully a separate detachment, in the rear of an opposing army and so near the border of hostilities, as long as he did without losing his entire command. Mosby was a Confederate officer in the American Civil War known for his command of cavalry battalions. His war experiences were recorded in his personal memoirs, or War Reminiscences, much of which deal with his commands leading directly to guerilla warfare in Northern Virginia, which became known as Mosbys Confederacy.
According to Nevins on Mosby and his Men. Largely an impersonal narrative of the exploits of the Confederacys famed Gray Ghost; few of the authors own experiences are included. Mosby and his men : a record of the adventures of that renowned partisan ranger, John S. Including the exploits of Smith, Chapman, Richards, Montjoy, Turner, Russell, Glasscock, and the men under them.
